The Tree of Riven is found in a far corner of Plateau Island, in a dark and isolated place where the only thing standing is the remains of the tree. Once the area was beautiful and full of life, the tree viewed as a heavenly sight so striking it could make any man cry, but when Gehn took over as ruler of Riven, he cut the tree down to stop the Rivenese from worshipping it as the symbol of their God. After the tree was destroyed, the surrounding area died with it and it was abandoned for many years. The Moity’s escaped here when they first rebelled against Gehn and after they killed him, they decided to stay detached from the Rivenese and live on their own. They converted the dead remains of the tree as their home, using wood, clay and crushed stone to build a round bulb on top of the stump of the tree and live within it as a colony. The only entrance is found as a hole at the base of the tree to climb up to the internal colony, but it is heavily guarded.
