It had taken the threat of the nobleman and her pushing that guaranteed him it was the right thing to do and that she would tell him no. He didn’t want to lose her and he didn’t want any more men thinking they had a right to have her, because she was his. So he had found his bravery to ask, for he knew that taking things slow was a good thing but he had to make sure people knew they cared for one another and were serious and that he was more than just her friend.

When she asked him if he would go down on one knee he laughed and pulled her closer “That is for a later time” He murmured with a smile, which he intended to do someday. His arms slid around her waist and he kissed her after she said yes, feeling the same giddiness in him that he had when he first kissed her. He lifted her up some against him but the waist with a grin, kissing her more deeply.
